“THE THIEF”
                By: Sean Ethan King
Long ago in a small village in the land of Sparta, there was a young, skilled Spartan warrior named “Perseus”,(named after “Perseus”, son of Zeus). He was very skilled as a warrior, intelligent, was great at solving problems, master detective, and very loyal to people, which was his most fatal flaw. He was in love with the princess Urbana. She had a long black hair, and green eyes. All of Sparta was in love with her and wanted to be with her. Each had to prove themselves worthy of her, but none of them prevailed, except for Perseus, Perseus did not. Perseus had what they did not have, persistence and determination with him, he would do whatever he can do to make things work, to make things happen. So the princess had to decide on how he would prove himself worthy, until one night. She was fast asleep with her guards guarding the entrance, until she heard a noise and when she woke up, the box that she uses to keep her priceless jewels, and right at that moment she thought on how Perseus should prove himself worthy. So the princess gave him a quest or a hunt rather, to find the thief who stole the priceless rubies, sapphires, gemstones, and so much more kinds of jewellery. He had less than a week to complete his tasks, and was allowed to bring others along with him in quest. His best friend Asterion came, the town’s craftsman and master trickster Hermes (named after the Greek God Hermes) and a few other. He packed his things like his trusty bronze sword and shield, and left off to start the quest. First off he went to visit the scene of the crime, and investigated. The first thing he noticed footprints were left, the bottom of a sandal, which was a staff with wings attached on the end with two snakes slithering up the staff. There were hand marks as well, as if the thief who stole had dirty hands or forgot to wash them, like a blacksmith. He went to another village in search, when Hermes expected it to be a blacksmith from another village. He had to pass a dozen of monsters and beast, left to right. The quest was even longer, in search of village after village checking the bottom people’s sandal, until the last day would be the next. The princess got worried that they did not find the thief early so she made the quest open to others and so it was a competition, and sent out a reward of money which would make you rich, for the return of the priceless jewels. During the quest he noticed something strange about Hermes, he always acted funny around jewellery and was amazing in arts and crafts. Due to his flaw, which is excessive amount of trusting he did not mind it. They all got tired to the point, that they camped at one deserted area. Hermes left to do something, an errand and after a while he got back, Perseus and Hermes just sat down and kept talking and talking for hours, while the rest would go get some resources, until they were gone for  hours, but Hermes seemed okay and just told him “not to worry, they will be back soon…” and made Perseus a meal. While Perseus was eating his meal he noticed that Hermes had the same print on the bottom of his sandal, until he noticed that the meal was poisoned. Hermes told him the entire story, about what he did, his plan, what he did to the others and what he will do to him, how he framed the blacksmith and others  and so much more. After that he left, and left him there to die, and returned the jewels to the princess. Couple of days later, the princess noticed the jewels were just a fake, and there was a note hidden in a secret compartment, which read “ Thanks for the prize…. And the jewels. Love Hermes”, but it was too late Hermes was long gone and already left Sparta, fooling the royals, master detective, and so much more.
